This one is for ME!

My turn, my turn! Since October, I have completed six quilts and two table toppers all intended for others. While I absolutely love making hand made gifts for family and friends;

 I have been seriously craving a project for me.
In May, I won an "Aspen Frost" jelly roll from a great giveaway at 1 Choice 4 Quilting. Finally, I have some time to create something from that georgous fabric.
 The pattern is from Jelly Roll Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott.
The feline decorative accent is another story all together. Her name is Finleigh. Although she looks like a kitten, she is four years old. We rescued her as a tiny baby from a breeder that my in- laws deal with because the breeder did not want kittens that were an "oops in her kennel". She is mix between Oriental Short Hair and Maine Coon. My inlaws took her brother and we took her.
What's another Zyrtec when in comes to rescuing a beautiful kitten?

The top is done except for the border. It took me two weekend days and 5 evenings after work,
I picked the fabric for the border before putting the rest together and once I finished it, I decided that I didn't like what I chose for the border, at all. Does this happen to the rest of you.
 Maybe I should not pick border fabric until the rest of the top is done??????????
so, I ordered a different fabric for the border.
Stay tuned for progess on this quilt as soon as the border fabric arrives.

 UPDATE

I finally found somehting that I like for border fabric!

  2. That's funny! It's really only 60 X 78. It just looks huge because Finleigh is so small.
